Credit card information is used only for payment processing and fraud prevention. Credit card information and other sensitive personal information required to process a transaction and is not used for any other purpose.

Keeping your personal information secure

To prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, to maintain data accuracy, and to ensure the appropriate use of the information, Shakopee Public Schools utilizes appropriate physical, technical and administrative procedures to safeguard the information we collect.

We use a 128 bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption, provided by Verisign, the largest provider of Security to the Internet world during the entire registration process.   Our software vendor, rSchoolToday, is also PCI complaint, which is the Federal standard for credit card security for Personal Cardholder Information.

SSL encryption is designed to make the information unreadable by anyone but you or us.  This security measure is working when you see the symbol of either an unbroken key or a closed lock (depending on your browser) at the bottom of your browser window.

Credit card numbers are used only for processing payments and are not used for other purposes. Credit Card numbers are stored as encrypted and will show to you and to us as with only the last four digits (For example: VISA XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-3456). This service gives you and Shakopee Public Schools an extra level of security to guard against credit card fraud and to protect your financial data.
